Ahhh . . .ctober (October)
How I've been waiting for this month.
Here are several of the reasons I am glad it is Ahhh . . . ctober:
- I wake up to temperatures that make me want to continue snuggling under a warm blanket.
- I have reason to have hot cocoa in my pantry.
- My children ask for and receive pancakes. Blueberry was the order of today.
- I wore long pants all day today and enjoyed it without even thinking of sweating.
- Which obviously leads to another favorite -- dropping the daily leg shaving. Ahhh . . .
- I have glorious views of God's hand changing the landscape at every turn.
- My girls are one day closer to their dramatic debuts as a dwarf and a goblin respectively. How exciting to be a part of "The Hobbit" cast.
- It is now getting dark before 8pm. JD Green goes to bed earlier, and I remember to take time to savor sunsets when they come before I'm too tired to enjoy them.
- One of my dearest friends whom I've not seen for three years + is coming to visit next weekend.
- Soup's on! I love making soups, and now it is starting to get cool enough to enjoy all the concoctions that get mixed up in my soup pot. I think I smell some tortilla soup on the horizon for tomorrow's dinner.
What makes this season special for you? Are you excited about the mention of "October", or does it fill you with dread? Let me know in the comments!

Beautiful days
Fall foliage
Baking
And of course the decrease in shaving!
(And I would love to make it to your house for supper tomorrow!)
I am excited about the season. I love it for the fall colors, cool breeze, baking, pumpkins, and anticipation of holidays.
When I hear "October," I think about football. My husband went to UT and I went to BAMA, so October means our big game (3rd weekend in October). ROLL TIDE! (Hee, hee, you are a UT fan, right?)
I totally agree with you on this season, Peach! There is nothing better than fall! I wait for this season all year long! :O) I also agree with the ladies above! College football is the best! Georgia Tech, of course but I do love watching it in the cool weather! Have a great day and save me so of the soup! :O) I had a friend you used to cook that for my family before moving away and it is the best! I need the recipe when you get a spare minute! :O)

Ok gals~ how could I have forgotten college football . . . maybe because we have no TV! Yet my dear DP has been doing his best with internet football coverage and the occasional jaunt to Chili's to see it for real.
If anyone wants to invite DP for a game night/afternoon, he would be much obliged : )
I also love fall foliage of all sorts, pumpkin anything, apple cider -- hot or cold, and preparing for the holidays (Christmas music is a staple around my house now).
Yes, Jane Anne, I am a UT fan, but I love that Alabama game as much as any BAMA fan could. Y'all's band is stellar!! Can't really comment on the football team, but I think those Vols have their work cut out for them.
I too...LOVE October, and the new season it brings!!
Check out my blog..I've left you a WELL deserved award!!
Blessings to you today!!!
Kim~
I love everything about fall. The colors, the cool weather, the smells of musty fallen leaves, jumping in the leaves, the foods of fall, Thanksgiving. I could go on and on!
All of the above!!! Especially the cool, crisp air; the smell of logs burning in the fireplace; apples cooking with cinamon and sugar; pumpkin pies cooling; ohhh, I could go on and on and on.
DP can come over any time for college football -- my hubby would love it. But there's one condition... he's gotta bring the WHOLE FAMILIA!!!
Hi,
I just popped on over here from Rocks In my Dryer to visit you site. It was so warm and inviting and full of peace. I appreciated your post on FEAR, your scriptures, and your love for the season we just entered now.
Just wanted you to know I was blessed by reading your blog!
