100 or More Things about Me
I did this long ago in a land far away that has been lost to me forever. I was searching through my archives for my first 100 Things post, but alas, no dice.
So, I decided in keeping with tradition, as I am somewhere around my 200th post . . .
I would share a bunch of things about myself to let some of you new readers get to know me.
Here goes:
1. I am originally from the North.
2. I know, shocking that the Peach is not really a Southern belle. I am originally from Canton, Ohio. Yet, my heart has always been tied to the south. I attribute it to my great grandmother who hailed from Chattanooga, TN. That blood runs thick, y'all.
3. I came to my true home in the South in 1990.
4. In five years, I will have spent half of my life below the Mason-Dixon Line.
5. I knew in 1981 that I'd not spend my life in the North. Don't ask me how, I just knew.
6. I love just about everything about the South.
7. I especially love the beach.
8. The ocean energizes me.
9. My DP (Darling Prince) is not energized by the beach.
10. He loves the mountains.
11. We're thinking California might be a great compromise.

19. Salsa and chips are some of my favorite foods. Yum!
20. I'm a spicy girl.
21. My first car was a 1974 African Red Superbeetle.
22. I wrapped up in a quilt to drive that car in the winter.
23. I drove that car to my first "real" job at . . . McDonald's.
24. I love that sweet tea is a given here in the South.
25. Adding sugar to unsweetened iced tea is a futile practice.
26. I found Jesus at age 14 on a UMYF (United Methodist Youth Fellowship) winter retreat.
27. I asked Him in my heart but changed very little about my life for about four or five years.

36. He still lives in Ohio, seven miles from my parents.
37. He and his wife made me an aunt and will do so again in January.
38. We are not geographically or emotionally close.
39. That makes me sad sometimes.
40. Neither of us is sad enough to make a relationship work.

42. Except mauve. The name of that color just makes my nose turn up.

74. I always thought I would wear lots of gold jewelry once my man bought me some.

WOW! Look at you! My 100 things was hard enough. I can't imagine doing 200! Let's see... comments about a few of these...
Given your chosen place to live, I guess it would be a God thing to find you settled in the Pac NW like my heart would desire, huh? :-)
And given your dislike of birds, if you ever even come by for a visit, I'm guessing a point of interest is probably not our chicken coop to see our latest project. :-)
Being a size 7 shoe size we could share shoes... just so you know. And we too have found Netfilx to be a wonderful alternative to live television broadcasting as well!
One last thought... we would be able to hang out together wonderfully... our dislike of ironing would excuse either of us from having to actually iron. We could just be a matched "wrinkled" pair! :-)
What a fun list and it was fun to learn even more about you!
Wow, what an incredible list! The last 4 or 5 struck me most of all. How true, how true. Well, one day you and I will have to go the beach and get energized, eat chips and salsa (with ranch, have you ever tried that combo - mmmm!), and talk about how we love being in the South even though we are not really southern (does VA count as the south? not really to me even though it is below the Mason-Dixon line)! I think I have 198 things in common with you! Ha!! Thanks for writing this awesome post about you!
Wow, I even dread to write a list of 100 things, whatever they are. 4 or 5 is managable, but more than that makes me head spin. Indeed you are fearless. And the list is very impressive.
Emma and Annya
oh my....now that right there is a list. I loved it. We have some things in common. :)
I am nearing my 100th post. It will be in sept or october. I'll let you know when it happens. :)
well I will have to give this some thought...100 things about me...well that will take some time..hehehe
I enjoyed getting to know you...I collect teapots and teacups and tea is my thing.
This was fun and now I will think over the next few days for my own.

Oh my goodness, I really enjoyed your list! I had fun reading it and sharing bits of it with my husband. Some comments: **We (my husband and I) grew up in Knoxville, TN. He is a die hard UT fan and is thrilled that you linked to the UT sports site and to the lyrics for Rocky Top. We just got back last night from a trip to TN. It was alarming and comforting to see all that orange again! (I went to BAMA.) **We are moving and will be living in our 5th state (though courtesy of the Army my husband has also been in 2 other countries). **I agree with the Texan pride note. My husband was born in Texas, lived there for 6 weeks and is quite proud to be an "authentic Texan" (as stated on the birth certificate). **I enjoy rubber stamping and making cards. **I detest cock roaches. They really freak me out. **My husband questions how well the TV ban will work once UT football starts. **I am a writer/editor by trade, also. I have a journalism degree and worked as a Technical writer for a time before moving into the software world and then out into Stay at Home Mom world.
I think I could comment on much more but that's all I can think of now. Thanks for the great read! I enjoyed learning more about you. I will let you know if I get a list up.
Oh, I love this list Peach! Some of it I knew, some I forgot and some is new to me. Happy "somewhere around your 200th" post!
great job you on your list! I haven't even attempted this yet. I love sweet tea and hate going in to a restaurant asking 'do you have sweet tea' and then being told, 'there is sugar on the table.' Um, no that doesn't work unless you've put the sugar in while it's hot so it can disolve :) I like that McDonalds has sweet tea now!
I think I remember reading the first 100 but it was so much fun reading 100 more. You are a girl after my own heart with your shoe thing. My hubby bought me a bench seat with a storage space just to hold my shoes. Needless to say my collection has gotten much more smaller since it has come down to a choice between a pair of shoes for each of three kids for back to school or those really cute red mid-heels for me. ;v)
